NaNo Gonna Stop!

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are all doing great!

I know it has been a while since I posted, but I've been writing!! I know, crazy right? Last night I just passed 20K in my NaNo novel! At least one of my buddies on NaNo has already won! I hope all you NaNoWriMos are getting lots of fabulous words!

I've learned a few things already this year during NaNo! So, I thought I'd share ;o)

  1. Word Wars (#NaNoWordWars on twitter) are da bomb and I wouldn't be nearly as far without them. Which leads me to....
  2. Twitter and Facebook. I have some fantastic friends and they are the best cheering team! In fact, all the NaNo participants/non-NaNo tweeps on twitter and facebook have been highly encouraging!
  3. I like the word, "was," and the word "look," and the characters' eyes. *sigh* that's what revisions for, eh?
  4. My outline is more of a suggestion than anything and when it comes down to it, I write what I feel at the moment. I've used a little of what's in the outline, but this story has taken its own path ;o)
  5. iTunes rocks
  6. I like bad 80's movies running in the background when I write. Every once in a while I can look up and laugh.
  7. SCRIVENER is the BEST thing for my writing EVER. I just downloaded 2.0 and I love it!
  8. I love the friendship and networking that NaNo brings! I just met Melanie from Hoosblog for the first time and we had a great time at the local Write-In and we're meeting again next Saturday!
So. How are you all doing? If you're not NaNoing, how's the writing coming along?

Hope you have a wonderful week ;o)

20K+ in a week. Fabulous, Erica. No question now about winning NaNo, but carry on writing :-)

You may even finish a whole first draft at this rate!!

One of my pages has the word "said" 14 times.

That's what revisions are for indeed.

:p

20000 already? Man alive, you rock! Perhaps one of these years I'll get to do NaNo. This year, once again, NoNo.

Erica it was so great to meet you, even if you ARE kicking my butt! I can't wait for next weekend. (my write up of our meeting will be next Wednesday...)

Brad, 'said' isn't bad. It's considered an invisible word. :)

20k already? You rock!
I've heard only good stuff about Scrivener. I might have to look into it.

I downloaded Scrivener but then decided if I took the time to learn it I would never get ANY words down for Nano, so I'm sucking it up with Word. But looking forward to playing with it for the two weeks left on my trial in December.
Congrats on your 20K! woo hoo!

Wow, you're just a writing machine! :-)

My progress has been slow, but steady.

You're making great progress, sweetie!! Keep at it! You'll win for sure. Is Scrivener for Mac or PC? I've heard good things, but I can't remember which program I need for PC. Good luck with the rest of your Nanoing!

Your progress is awesome. :)

This post makes Nano so tempting when I chose to skip it this month.
